That's quite a bit different from some of those other sites that are more of destination sites.

mathew

Re: Volkswagen - that’s some serious volatility

It was tongue-in-cheek, actually. Agree on the short squeeze and that hopefully there will be regulatory repercussions - transparency is necessary.

That said, Porsche has been undervalued long-term purely from an FCF pov and Porsche did unlock value when they first announced participation and then when legislation supported them. Not to the extent indicated by the chart above, ofc.

Re: Volkswagen - that’s some serious volatility

I hope this comment was ironic. VW's share price has rocketed because of a classic short squeeze executed by Porsche. See today's FT: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/9c3098dc-a593-11dd-9d....

Saxony owns roughly 20% of the stock, while Porsche owns or controls 75% of the stock, leaving a free float of roughly 5%. Hedge funds that have shorted the stock are finding that they've actually borrowed the shares they've sold from Porsche, and are now being forced to buy those shares back from Porrsche to settle the trade; it's this which is causing the ramp up in price.

What this disgraceful episode illustrates is how primitive and in need of reform is Germany's financial regulatory system. Porsche's share price manipulation (which is what this is) would be illegal in London or New York.

Re: Volkswagen - that’s some serious volatility

I hope this comment was ironic. But they don't make it easy to do it, and they have to negotiate with APIs, making them at the whim of third parties.
With ThoughtTrail, it'd just be one download, then you just decide whats ok being public and whats not.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts at Seedcamp. After we dumped YOUR memex pitch ;) - this is our new pitch:

We let users share and discover related content in one click with a user-owned activity stream, created using Desktop Search technology. Say your on Skype and your friend instant messages you a link to an amazing YouTube video. Instead of messing around, instant messaging it to the friends that happen to be online, and going to to the effort of emailing the ones that aren't, you can post it to your ThoughtTrail tumbelog in just a click or two.
As well as it being on your tumblelog, it can appear in your Facebook feed, your blog, and so on.
You can also, automatically get up related information with MiniBrowser.

Desktop search technology allows for a birds eye view of user activity. Knowing the user better and faster than any social network or outdated advertising platform possibly could.
Expect a whole new range of highly targeted dating and social sites, instantly leveraging dynamically generated user profiles for vastly improved recommendations and collaborative filtering.

It's the platform-platform play. The biggest play of all.

Skype: fluxorz
Email: luke@thoughttrail.com

Re: Leave Wall Street, Join A Startup

Yey!
